Depending on the wind direction, your experience provider shall choose launch locations to give you the best views at sunrise that the day can offer. Geelong City Council has come on board and have allowed Liberty Balloon Flights to use many of the city parks for taking off and landing. This enables the most spectacular flights over the city on many days. Due to its proximity to the bay and Avalon Airport, some flights will be out to the West and North, places like Bannockburn and Murgheboluc. Wherever you fly, you will enjoy spectacular views of the region in the early morning light.

What to Expect
Flights happen at sunrise so we meet earlier, much earlier, normally one and a half hours BEFORE Sunrise which can be as early as 04:30 in the Summer. From a pre-arranged meeting point passengers climb into our vehicles and we drive them to the launch site which, depending on the wind direction on the day, can be in various different locations.
Once there, we proceed to inflate the balloon and passengers are encouraged to help on different tasks, the same as when we land, where everyone able to is welcomed to help.
The flight itself lasts approximately one hour, where we float in the breeze and land "downwind" of where we took off. Most landings are very gentle. Sometimes a basket might layover and this depends on the wind speed on the surface. It is always safe.
The views are always spectacular and most often you are greeted with fabulous sunrises and spectacular views. Ballooning is great for those who enjoy nature and for those who love contemplating views. There is nothing like a balloon flight to get the best views at sunrise.
After we have landed, we pack the equipment away and drive all passengers back to the location we first met them in the morning for a sumptuous (optional) breakfast and back to their cars/hotel.
