Australian Capital Territory
The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) is home to the nation’s capital, Canberra, which is Australia’s largest inland city, built between Sydney and Melbourne in the early 20th century. In the heart of Canberra is Lake Burley Griffin, the Australian War Memorial and Parliament House.
Canberra hosts some wonderful events throughout the year including the Floriade Festival, Enlighten Festival and the Anzac Day dawn service at the Australian War Memorial.
The ACT is hot and dry during the summer months and cool enough in the winter for occasional snowfall.
