Highlights
Discovered by surveyors for the Overland Telegraph Line in the latter part of the nineteenth century, the Bitter Springs are located approximately two kilometres from Mataranka in the Katherine region. Set amongst palms and tropical woodlands in Elsey National Park, these spring-fed thermal pools are an ideal place to relax and unwind after a long drive, or while exploring the national park.
There is a short 500m loop walk available at Bitter Springs.

- Always stay on the marked tracks where possible. Never climb fences, they are there for your own safety.
