Overview

Highlights

Visit the Buderim Falls on the Sunshine Coast if you enjoy getting out into nature, hiking and exploring Australia's great outdoors.

Buderim Forest Park is a 45 hectare haven of tranquillity less than a kilometre from the north side of Buderim village on the Sunshine Coast –just 15 minutes from the coast. With its towering trees, meandering tracks and stunning waterfall, this sub-tropical oasis is a paradise for nature lovers and photographers alike. Buderim Falls, also known as Serenity Falls, it’s a wonderful place to visit at any time of year, and looks particularly spectacular after rainfall when the waters cascade down the rock face into the waterhole below.

The 600 metre walkway from Lindsay Road will take you on a picturesque forest ramble along the banks of Martins Creek’s cascading waters. This is the easiest part of the walk and is wheelchair friendly. From the end of the boardwalk you can continue upwards through the bush via a rugged trail to the waterfall. For direct access to the waterfall and the high arch bridge spanning the creek, start at Quorn Close – it’s an easy to moderate hike to the falls via a bush track. The Quorn close entry to the reserve is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers.

Important Information

Guidelines

  • Always do some research before heading out for your journey. Visit the parks website for up to date information on the current conditions.
  • Always enjoy waterfalls from trails and marked viewing points. Do not climb over barriers as cliff edges and slippery surfaces may cause injury or death.
  • Only swim where permitted. Don’t jump from cliff edges into water bodies.
  • Swimming near or under waterfalls can be dangerous due to strong currents, submerged hidden rock ledges and other dangers. The force of a waterfall can be incredibly strong and unfortunately, many people have drowned. Follow warning signs and take caution.
  • Ensure to check for any updates relating to any warnings that may be issued for the area, and check for the opening and closing times.
  • Wear suitable footwear and ensure to bring a hat and sunscreen to protect yourself from the elements.
  • Plan ahead and ensure to take enough food and water for your journey.
  • Always stay on the marked tracks where possible. Never climb fences, they are there for your own safety.
  • Please consider the environment, take your rubbish with you or place in the bins provided. We want to ensure these beautiful places are still here for our future generations to enjoy.
  • Do not feed the wildlife.
  • Leave nothing but footprints. Take nothing but memories.
