Overview
Duration: 1 Hours (approx.)
The Jewel Cave Fully Guided Tour run by the Margaret River Region Caves and Lighthouses, is a must-do Aussie Bucket List experience when visiting Western Australia's Margaret River Region.
Jewel Cave is an extremely well decorated cave, containing many beautiful examples of delicate helectites, cave coral, pendulites, a very large stalagmite called ‘The Karri Forest’, and beautiful examples of flowstone such as ‘The Frozen Waterfall’ and ‘the Organ-pipes’.
Fossilised remains of several Tasmanian Tigers or 'Thylacines' have been discovered within Jewel Cave's chambers, safely preserved more than 3000 years after the unusual marsupial became extinct on mainland Australia.
The Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association (MRBTA) operates six iconic tourist attractions within the pristine Margaret River Region.
The historical working lighthouses of Cape Leeuwin and Cape Naturaliste are open daily and offer tours of the lighthouse towers and the grounds.
Also open daily are the spectacular show caves of the region, with Ngilgi, Mammoth, Lake and Jewel Caves spread throughout the region; from Yallingup to Augusta. You can take a fully guided tour of Lake and Jewel Caves, a semi-guided tour of Ngilgi Cave or a self-guided audio tour of Mammoth Cave.
