Overview
Highlights
Head to the Blue Mountains National Park and take on the Furber Steps-Scenic Railway Walking Track. Descend down the steep Furber Steps and discover scenic views, waterfalls, birdwatching and more in astonishing Blue Mountains surrounds.
The 2.4 kilometre return track takes around two hours to complete and traverses lush rainforest. The popular walking track goes deep into the Jamison Valley, offering great views of Mount Solitary, amazing views of Three Sisters overlooking the Kedumba Valley at Vaniman’s Lookout and Juliet’s Balcony, as well as a chance to get up close to the beautiful natural attraction that is the cascading waters of Katoomba Falls.
Visitors can also take the opportunity to ride the Scenic Railway or Scenic Cableway back to the top, enjoying awe-inspiring views of the valley below (admission fees apply). Plan your walk to ensure you can make it before the last train leaves at 4:50pm.
Those taking on the track should take note that the walking track is listed as Grade Three in difficulty, with some bushwalking experience recommended

Important Information
Guidelines
- Always do some research before heading out for your journey. Visit the parks website for the most up to date information.
- Always enjoy waterfalls from trails and marked viewing points. Do not climb over barriers as cliff edges and slippery surfaces may cause injury or death.
- Only swim where permitted. Don’t jump from cliff edges into water bodies.
- Swimming near or under waterfalls can be dangerous due to strong currents, submerged hidden rock ledges and other dangers. The force of a waterfall can be incredibly strong and unfortunately, many people have drowned. Follow warning signs and take caution.
- Ensure you observe all safety signs. Always stay on the marked tracks where possible. Never climb fences, they are there for your own safety.
- Wear suitable footwear and always ensure to bring a hat and sunscreen to protect yourself from the elements when exploring Australia.
- Plan ahead and ensure to take enough food and water for your journey.
- Please consider the environment, take your rubbish with you or place in the bins provided. We want to ensure these beautiful places are still here for our future generations to enjoy.
- Parking, camping and national park fees may apply. See parks website for more details.
- Please do not feed the wildlife.
