The Tangalooma Shipwrecks are a must-see Aussie Bucket List destination located off Moreton Island, which is located off the coast of Brisbane, Queensland. It is just a short boat trip from the Tangalooma Terminal at the Holt Street Wharf, Pinkenba or the Port of Brisbane, to get to the island.

With mysterious shipwrecks and colourful coral reefs, the famous Tangalooma Wrecks provide some of the best diving and snorkelling on the east coast of Australia. Moreton Island is almost entirely National Park, making it an excellent destination for nature lovers.

Guidelines

  • Permits are required for both driving and camping on Moreton Island.
  • Native Title of the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee group was formally recognised on Moreton Island on November 22, 2019. This means that all vehicle access permits and camping permits are now booked through the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation (sometimes called QYAC) on their website here: https://www.mulgumpincamping.net.au/
